Application

Centrifugal fans of the ELF series are manufactured in compliance with international standard ISO 9001 and adhere to the quality assurance requirements concerning products that are to be used in potentially explosive environments, as specified in the standard PN-EN 13980.

Equipment meets requirments of ATEX 94/9/EC Directive and is designed for use in potentially explosive environments, other than coal mines and dog headings. Designed for use within an installation, i.e. channels on the inlet and/or the outlet of the fan.  Temperature of the transported medium should not exceed 60°C, provided that the temperature around the electric motor is within the range of -20°C - +40°C.

Construction

As standard, housing of the ELF fans is welded of steel sheet (stainless steel for the SSI version) and covered with polyester powder paint. Standard configuration of the fan is LG90; other LG configurations are available on request. RD configurations require additional arrangements.

A steel base, provided with an earth clamp, is standard for versions over size 160. For sizes 97-146 the base is optional. To minimise the risk of sparking, some segments have been made of aluminum sheet. 

The rotors, provided with type F bent blades are welded of steel sheet (stainless steel for the SSI version), and dynamically balanced according to IS01940; accuracy class G2.5.

Electric motor

The ELF fans are provided with induction three-phase motors (230/400V or 400V, 50H)z and are adapted for operation within potentially explosive environments. 

On request, we can supply motors with a different temperature rating and various housing protection e.g., types nA, d, de. The motors are provided with PTC posistor sensors that should be connected to the protection system; the type of the sensor should be specified by the customer/electric fitter.

NOTE
The user and fitter of the equipment are under obligation to comply with the rules and regulations specified in Directive 99/92/EC (“ATEX USERS”) (89/391/EWG) concerning minimum requirements in terms of improving the health and safety protection of workers potentially at risk from explosive environments. 

We recommend installation of protective mesh on the inlet and outlet of the fan, alongside vibration monitoring systems and vibration dampeners for all categories of this equipment.
