The photovoltaic ventilation set is an island ventilation system which does not require an external power supply.  It can be used to provide ventilation in locations where it is difficult or impossible to connect a conventional power supply. This system is excellent as ventilation in mobile containers, passive houses and as support for conventional ventilation.

Construction

The set consists of a supply system (photovoltaic panel, frame, automatic steering, on / off switch) and a dedicated fan.

On request, the set can be supplied with a photovoltaic panel of different power and a battery of different capacity than the standard one.


Operation principle

Placed on a roof, the photovoltaic panel along with its automatics is a source of 24VDC. The amount of energy produced by the cell is dependent on weather conditions, time of day and year's season.

When the instantaneous amount of supplied energy is bigger than its demand - the surplus is stored in the battery. Thus, it can be used in a period when atmospheric conditions worsen (the maximum amount of stored energy corresponds to the maximum battery capacity reduced by 30%).

Cooperation of the power supply system with the fan

The fan operation can be controlled directly by:
  • switch installed in the automation box
  • external switch of on / off type, and speed switch (input voltage 5VDC/ 10VDC)
  • thermostat (not included)
  • humidity sensor (not included, 230V 50Hz of power supply required)
On request, there is the possibility of using the by-pass allowing to connect an external power supply of 230V / 50Hz, which may be applied in case of battery discharge.
